Onshore wind turbines
Reliable obstacle lighting for maximum operational safety
The obstacle lighting for onshore wind turbines is a key component of the overall system. It must function reliably over the long term and to comply with legal and operational requirements.
Different hub heights, locations, and facility concepts require customized solutions that can be easily integrated into existing systems.

Requirements for state-of-the-art onshore lighting
- Clear marking of high obstacles
- Reliable visibility day and night
- Integration into new and existing systems
- Reliable and continuous operation
Efficient. Maintenance-free. Reliable.
- Our systems are specifically designed for use in windy and often remote regions.
- Maintenance-free systems for minimal operating costs
- Energy-efficient LED technology
- Plug-and-play installation for quick assembly
- Robust construction for extreme environmental conditions
Nacelle and tower lighting in detail
The key components of the obstacle lighting system are located in the nacelle of the wind turbine. In this exposed position with high wind speeds, continuous vibrations, and changing weather conditions, the obstacle lightning system is constantly subjected to severe stresses. At the same time, access for maintenance work is limited, which places particularly high demands on the reliability and durability of the systems used. For this reason, robust designs, vibration-resistant constructions, and a low-maintenance configuration are essential for reliable operation.
Flexible system solutions for every requirement
Depending on the height and location of the facility, different systems are used:
- High- intensity lights (50K / 100K)
- Compact systems such as the SIRIUS R4, MIRI R2, or QFW3
The selection is always made on a project-by-project basis to ensure clear visibility from all relevant directions.
Centralized control & Smart connectivity
All lighting is controlled via a control cabinet installed in the nacelle:
- Supply and monitoring of all lights
- Control of nacelle and tower lighting
- The tower lights are connected to control cabinet via connectbox
The result: a continuous, reliable, and efficiently controllable system
